Long Valley Camping @Moss Howe Farm
– Our story

In Nov 2022 we were given the opportunity to apply to take on the campsite at Moss Howe Farm. Annette who had been running the campsite since she set it up in 2013 decided to hang up her hat and take a well-earned retirement. This opened the door for applications to take on the long-term running of the campsite. We had already been working with Annette since 2015 and knew the campsite well and so when lease came up, we felt it a natural fit for us and were really excited at the opportunity.

Running a campsite has always been our dream and we put everything into our application. There was a nervous wait of a month or so but in Jan 2022 we were over the moon to be awarded the lease. The honeymoon didn’t last long though as there was a lot of work to do before we could open for the season in March. We set to making improvements, upgrades, pitched out the site and took it all online and after many a late night we opened Moss Howe Farm Campsite on March 17th with a whopping 17 camping bookings arriving for our opening weekend! To say it was a busy season is an understatement!

We welcomed more than 4300 campers, glampers, campervanners, cycle tourists, runners, walkers and even a celebrity or two! We also set up and ran the new onsite shop, installed a new parking area, learnt a few lessons on the in/outs of running a campsite, made plans for 2024 and generally had a right old time of it. The sun shone, the rain fell, adventurers were had, memories made, and we met some amazing people along the way. We are already looking forward to next season, have big plans for the future and can’t wait to get stuck in and continue to provide a warm welcome to all.
